Learning Basics of Fiber Optics through Experiments Theory to Lab to Applications

This kit has been designed by our engineers based on their experience while performing fiber optic related experiments during their post graduate programme in photonics. Unlike most of the project kits available in market, these experiments are not simply plug-in or turn-key type where students just need to vary inputs and record corresponding outputs to plot a graph and verify the result. The experiments in this kit require complete involvement of the student or group, staring from fiber inspection, fiber tip polishing, attaching connector to the fiber and launching laser in it, etc. The experiments in this kit will enable students to learn how single mode, multi mode and polarization maintaining fibers differ from one another and applications they fit in.

All the experiments in this kit are open ended, students are encouraged to value-add in existing setups. We have used industry grade components from some of the well known companies in Photonics like Newport and Thor Labs to design experiments with utmost precision.
We hope that this kit will help in making some of the bright photonics minds in the country.
